Our Family Printable

Untitled-6-01

For family night, think about gathering your family together and create a list of family guidelines you want to strive to live by. I say strive, as they are goals to reach for and we all know that on any given day, someone in the family is out of whack or the day just doesn’t go well. Chin up… tomorrow is a new beginning. (Note: Hence the Fight and Forgive on the list). Family life can be messy, but we are in this together and there is no place we would rather be. Think of this as a living, breathing document and as you hold family councils, look at the list you have created and add or subtract items, depending upon your needs. Every family is different with our own unique set of strengths and weaknesses…  print out your list and have everyone in the family sign and frame it ! Find it here

Have a wonderful day! Brenda

Generational Family Chart

DSC_0017Love at first sight. That is what I felt when I found this cool generational family chart by Loni Harris of Cactus & Olive. It’s cool. It’s hip. It’s something I would display in my home and I think you may like it too! It is currently unavailable, but I am crossing my fingers that given some new interest, she will once again have them available.

Take care, Brenda

I’ll Go Where You Want Me To Go…

IllGoWhereYouWantMeToGoIMG_6478IMG_6483I know when we think of this quote, missionaries come to mind. But then, I also know that we are all missionaries as we look for ways to love and serve the people around us in different ways. This last Sunday, our family hosted our first Neighborhood Family Get Together. Not as a ward activity, but just as neighbors. Of course we invited everyone in our ward boundary. Eating yummy cookies, catching up with old friends and getting to know new, was a wonderful way to spend a couple of early evening hours and a definite do again each month… and together was a pretty good place to be. This quote will be added to the Sugardoodle shop here first thing in the morning.

Thank you! Brenda

Scripture Power Reading Chart

Dear Friends-
We live in a world that idolizes fame and fortune…  Football and basketball stars of our favorite teams, movies, musicians and movie stars, even Super Heroes like Superman, Batman, The Hulk and Thor. We all want and need someone to look up to. Oftentimes, the people that live with us and love us throughout our lives are our Hero’s, though many times we overlook them.
I love the Primary 2016 Theme I Know The Scriptures Are True and know there is a power and strength that comes from reading the scriptures each day. Scripture Power.
Who are our hero’s? Our children’s hero’s? The scriptures are filled with wonderful examples of true hero’s for us to look up to and follow. This is a great time to talk around the kitchen table and talk about our favorites and why … Nephi, Ammon, Captain Moroni, Abinadi, 2000 Stripling Warriors, Alma the Younger, The Brother of Jared, Sons of Mosiah and most especially Jesus Christ. We can pick our favorite (s) and make a list of their character traits we want to strive for in our lives.
I have included a link to our FREE Scripture Power Book of Mormon Reading Chart for you to download for each member of your family or church group to keep track of your progress. Happy Reading!
Take care,
Brenda
